Altstaufner Einkehr in Oberstaufen

We ordered and picked up our food (due to the lockdown). Everything was packed separately and was not huddled together like in other restaurants. The food was freshly prepared and still hot when we got home. The dishes were very, very tasty. The service was very friendly and courteous. All in one a perfect restaurant without exception. Definitely try it out!

Very nice waiter, despite a full house, still got a "poor sinner's table" to eat. It was worth it! We were very satisfied. I can only recommend it!

9/23/20 another nice evening with good food and friendly service. Unfortunately in the small Stüberl way too many people and the 8-person table too loud! Every time we visit Oberstaufen, we come to this venerable building with a tranquil atmosphere at least once. We always got a seat, even in the hustle and bustle (except for once) - albeit for a limited time. Nevertheless, always served very nicely. You can rely on the consistent quality here. Delicious and well presented. Everything just fits here. We are already looking forward to the next trip.

The two of us spontaneously came here to eat yesterday. Professional from start to finish! Very nice service and the food was excellent too. Rarely get such perfect service. Very clear recommendation. We had the rump steak with fried potatoes and the game goulash. Both very tender and decent portions. Big compliments to the entire team, we will definitely be back on our next visit to Allgäu.

Were there for dinner today, we received a very friendly welcome, even without a reservation, a table was set up. We were very enthusiastic about the food, rarely had such a good schnitzel (veal escalope with potato salad and cranberries)! The service staff was very competent and courteous! Unfortunately only here for vacation, otherwise we would be regular guests! Keep it up, thank you very much!

First address in Oberstaufen, great food in a sophisticated atmosphere. Of course, this also has an impact on the price, but the service staff are just as great!

Super good food. Competent service. Kitchen perfect. You could feel really good. With a group of 13 people everything worked flawlessly. I can only recommend it.

We had reserved for 13 people. Although the restaurant was very well attended, we were served absolutely professionally and everything worked great from start to finish. The 13 dishes all came at the same time and were delicious. An absolutely successful restaurant visit!

We wanted to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary there. Despite the announcement, neither the waitress nor the landlord did not greet us. The food was nothing special either. As Oberstauen we are disappointed.

It was a long time ago that we had such a nice evening! The food is fantastic! Down-to-earth dishes perfectly prepared! The service full of warmth and with fun! In the end, a very fair price for everything together. As soon as we are back in Oberstaufen we will be back. For everyone else: best like us - with reservation! Unfortunately, many guests had to move on disappointed because they were completely reserved!

Fantastic food and really cosy atmosphere

So good we went two days running and may well go again. Don't expect fast service as good food should be cooked fresh and that takes time. First day we had a mushroom dish with local mushrooms and mushroom ravioli off the specials page, absolutely delicious. Next day I had pork medallions and OH the hunters dish which was a lovely venison stew. Never made it to desserts. Highly recommend.

Food here is top! Order one of the brotzeit plates to get a real mountain feeling.

Very cozy authentic feeling place. The food was very nice especially the wienerschnitzel and Grandma Eckers venison ragout.

We really liked it and was delicious! Friendly service! Were welcome with child and dog. Only recommended.

Food and customer service

Too busy, stacked on tables. Food is ok, but the rest.... waited (ignored) 5 minutes to be seated... then told a table is available until 7pm (it was 6pm and we were with a small child, so doable). Then had a very rude waitress who was obviously stressed about the time constraint and reminded us 4 times (!!) that we had to hurry up because we needed to be gone by 7pm.... result: we were gone by 18:45 and will not go back... what a shame!

Great traditional Bavarian food.

Great food and perfect service! I would always visit the restaurant when staying in Oberstaufen! Go there and enjoy this brilliant restaurant!

Good food, nice place with a genuine feel

Wonderful Bavarian cuisine. The steak was on point, the goulash to bath in, and also the self made noodles are very nice.
